○第二十帖 朝顔 源氏が青年の時から慕っていた従妹の姫君が、父の服喪のため加茂の斎院の役を退きました。源氏は姫君の住む桃園の邸にたびたび通いますが、姫君はつれないばかりです。そのつれなさに想いが増す源氏はある日庭の朝顔とともに歌を送ります。
・The 20th Story - Asagao
A princess lived in Momozono Residence. She was a younger female cousin of Genji whom he had longed for since his adolescence. Genji often visited her, but she snubbed him. Such heartless behavior added to Genji's love for her. So one day he wrote a letter of a waka poem and presented it with an Asagao (a morning glory) to her.
